A septic tank fills for years without asking for anything. By the time you smell it, the sludge has already reached the outlet — and it has two ways out: back up your pipes, or down into the ground your house sits on.
Neither stays your problem for long. Seepage from an overflowing tank reaches the wells and groundwater the whole street draws from — which is exactly how typhoid and cholera move through the Valley. The fix isn't dramatic. It's a tanker, an hour, and sludge taken to an authorised site instead of a river.
